Smoothie Recipe for Strong Eye Health

Strong eyes can be maintained with the right diet. Smoothies are an awesome way to get your fill of fruits and veggies. The right combination promote strong eyes. Recent studies show that ingredients like lutein, zinc, vitamin D and omega 3 fatty acids all contribute to strong eye health.

Most people don’t get enough fruits and vegetables on a daily basis, which is why smoothies have become so popular. They provide us with an easy way to work those ingredients into our diets without eating fruits and veggies around the clock.

 Ingredients For Smoothie

  • 2 cups of kale
  • 1 banana
  • ½ cup of blueberries
  • 2 cups of almond milk
  • ½ cup of water

Start by blending the kale and water in the blender. This will break down the kale into a green liquid. Blend about one minute. Next, add the banana, blueberries and almond milk. Proceed to blend for about 1-2 minutes or until the smoothie is the consistency you like. That’s the great thing about smoothies. You can keep the consistency thick for a healthy dessert or you can make it thin so it’s easy to get down quickly.

The ingredients in this smoothie such as kale and blueberries are packed with lutein and vitamin D. These ingredients prevent macular degeneration and cataracts. This means strong eyes and vibrant vision are in your future. Eye health primarily revolves around prevention versus treatment. Incorporating these ingredients early on in life will decrease your risk of eye problems as you age.
