Eye Exam

Your eyes need care just like your hair, your teeth and every other part of your body does. And while the eyes are surprisingly resilient, the fact remains that your eye health can easily erode over time if you do not pay proper attention to your eyes.
There are a few signs that you should always be on the look out for, that will help you to decide whether or not it is time to schedule your next eye care appointment. Some of them may surprise you, will others may be problems that you are facing right this very moment.

Blurry Vision

If you have blurry vision, that is a tell tale sign that you need to head on over and see your eye care specialist. Blurry vision can be the result of a number of problems, not excluding cataracts. There is no safe way to try and self diagnose your blurry vision; only an eye car professional will be able to tell you whether or not you are suffering from any type of eye health issue.

 Pain

No matter where you experience pain in your body, you can always be sure that it means one thing; that your body is trying to tell you something. Pain is your body’s way of trying to get your attention. It means that something is wrong. If you have pain in your eyes, then you definitely need to see an eye care specialist immediately, as you could be facing any number of serious eye health conditions that, if left untreated, could possibly result in you losing your vision.

Sensitivity

No one should ever look directly at the sun; it’s not just an old wives tale that you could burn out your eyes. Looking at the sun can heavily damage your corneas. But if you notice that you have sensitivity to light in any setting or to any specific object, whether it is some discomfort in a brightly lit room or while staring at a computer screen, you need to see your eye care specialist. There are a number of reasons why your eyes could be sensitive to light. However you will never be able to properly diagnose or treat any of these conditions on your own.

 “Flash Bulbs”

The flash bulb affect is normal; a person takes your picture and you have to try and blink it off. This happens because of the sudden intensity of the flash. But seeing flashing colors during the day time, or at random, is not normal, and it could mean that you have a serious eye health condition.

 Patches of Blindness

This goes with out saying; if you have ever woken up unable to see, or suddenly had a loss of vision, it is imperative that you see your eye care physician immediately. Loss of vision, especially sudden, or temporary blindness can be a result of a severe health condition, and it should not be ignored.
